Build, save and revise a customer estimate

Start with job costs, then review your price and terms before issuing a customer document.

Steps

  1. Open Estimates & bids → New estimate. Choose a customer and enter project name, dates and follow-up date if needed.
  2. Add each Materials, Labor or other cost line with description, quantity and unit cost. Check Tax only for taxable lines according to your requirements.
  3. Review overhead on costs, target margin, discount, minimum profit, tax and deposit. The preview and stress test update as you change inputs.
  4. Add scope, exclusions and payment terms, then Save estimate. Saving is not sending, customer acceptance or a payment.
  5. Use Issue & PDF when ready. To revise an issued bid, copy it, edit the copy and issue the revision. Retain the earlier PDF for your records.

Check that it worked

The saved estimate and issued PDF agree, including tax and deposit, and the customer receives the intended revision.
