Enter opening cash, weekly bills and a cash buffer

The 13-week cash plan is a manual planning model; it does not automatically schedule all invoices, wages or bills.

Steps

  1. Open 13-week cash plan. Enter the start date and actual Opening cash for that date.
  2. Enter expected receipts and planned payroll, materials and other outflows for each week. Include known unpaid commitments once.
  3. Enter a cash buffer and receipts-shortfall percentage to compare the baseline with a lower-receipts scenario.
  4. Save the plan. Revisit it as dates, wages and bills change. Do not add forecast receipts to Other income until actually received.
  5. Use the result as a planning estimate, not a guarantee that cash is safe to spend.

Check that it worked

Opening cash plus receipts minus outflows explains each week; the stress case changes expected receipts.
