Add materials, fuel, gas, tools or another job expense

Enter the cost once and choose whether it belongs to a job or the business generally.

Steps

  1. Open Expenses & income → Add expense. Choose the job, or Company / shop overhead for a shared business cost.
  2. Enter description, supplier, category, expense date and optional receipt / bill reference and due date.
  3. For a single bill, enter Quantity 1 and the full cost as Cost per unit. For multiple units, enter quantity and unit price.
  4. Check This expense has been paid only when settled; enter Date paid. Save expense. Unpaid costs affect job costs but not cash spent.
  5. Employee time already approved creates a Labor expense automatically. Do not enter that same wage cost as another bill.

Check that it worked

The cost is under the intended job or overhead, and cash changes only when marked paid.
