Employee hours, approval and gross wages

Record regular and overtime hours on Employees & time.

Steps

  1. Add an employee and enter the applicable regular and overtime rates.
  2. Record a work date and choose a job or company overhead. Saved entries retain their rates when employee defaults change.
  3. Draft time has no financial effect. Approved time creates exactly one linked Labor expense. Edit that time entry to correct it; do not enter the wages again as an expense.
  4. Mark fully paid only when the gross wage obligation is settled. Take-home pay, withholdings, filings and partial payroll settlements are not calculated.
  5. Record actual employer costs separately using Employer costs. Update the job remaining-cost forecast after posting labor so completed work is not also included in future costs.
  6. To remove an accidental entry, open Employees & time → Review → Remove time entry. Approved time removal also removes its linked wage expense. This does not reverse an actual payroll payment. Field laptops can remove only their own Draft entries.

Check that it worked
