Track several jobs for the same customer

Customers, jobs and invoices are linked through separate records.

Steps

  1. Create one customer record, then select that customer each time you add a job or estimate.
  2. Use clear project names and the assigned job numbers to distinguish projects.
  3. When entering an expense, select the correct job. Business overhead is separate and is not allocated automatically to jobs.
  4. Invoices inherit their customer from the selected job. Open the job to review only its expenses, changes and invoices.
  5. A job linked to an accepted estimate or existing invoices cannot freely switch to a different customer. Keep the original history and create the correct new project when needed.

Check that it worked

Each job shows its own costs and invoices while the customer directory shows the number of linked jobs.

Still stuck?

If one job's cost is counted on another, first inspect the expense's assignment; report a mismatch that persists after a correct assignment.
