Steps
- Job forecast cost equals all recorded job costs plus future costs still to come and contingency on those future costs.
- Forecast job profit equals the approved contract value before tax minus that forecast cost. It includes costs whether paid or unpaid.
- Cash activity counts recorded customer payments and other income, less expenses marked paid on their paid dates.
- An unpaid invoice increases outstanding receivables but is not cash received. An unpaid expense affects job costs but not cash spent.
- General overhead expenses are not allocated automatically to individual jobs. The dashboard's job-profit total is not a complete company income statement or a live bank balance.

Compare like-for-like amounts, dates, paid status and tax treatment before expecting two totals to match.
Still stuck?
If a recorded payment or paid expense is missing from the correct reporting month, report that specific record type using a fictional example.
